'Gixie Clock' captures the unique appearance of Nixie tubes, while introducing modern innovations. LED backlighting allows for complete colour customisation, low-energy consumption and long life. Removable magnetic tubes make it easy to swap colours of the aluminium casing, and clean or transport the clock safely

This latest design is the creation of students, who have combined their skills and enthusiasm to achieve a 21st century iteration of the classic cathode display
